St. Joseph Medical Center Auxiliary

Our Mission

To enhance the Medical Center's purpose by providing appropriate and effective healthcare service to the sick and injured through fundraising and volunteer service activities and to continue to support the Mission of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI).

The Auxiliary of St. Joseph Medical Center has been assisting the hospital for over 130 years. Through those years the Auxiliary was known by many different names but has always followed the same Mission.

In the past the Auxiliary sponsored the Annual Charity Ball, Fashion Shows, Wine Tasting, May Fair, Festival of Trees and many other fundraising projects.

Longstanding current activities sponsored by the Auxiliary are:

• Adopt-A-Bear Program
• Lights of Love
• The Carousel Gift Shop
• Caps for Newborns
• In House Sales

St. Joseph Medical Center Reading Auxiliary is and has been an integral part of our organization.

Some activates include:

• Fudge Sales
• Bake Sales
• Spaghetti Dinner
• Raffles
• Flags to Honor those in the Armed Services

Working together through these activities, combined both organizations have been able to contribute over 2 million dollars toward varies programs as well as the purchasing of diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment which is much needed to help serve the community.

By joining the Auxiliary you have the opportunity to:

• Become a member of the St. Joseph Medical Center Family
• Volunteer at the Gift Shop
• Volunteer in the Bern Twp or Downtown Campus Facilities
• Cultivate new friends and celebrate old relationships

Help to continue to make St. Joseph Medical Center the best it can be by joining the Auxiliary. Membership includes long standing friends of the hospital, prominent community members and spouses of local physicians.
