Pregnancy Partners Program Services

Introduction phone call at 16 weeks from pregnancy partner nurse.

Special visit with pregnancy partner nurse at 20 weeks to:

Answer any questions/discuss concerns
Discuss family centered care philosophy
Review pregnancy and what to expect
Share prenatal class information and other hospital services
Discuss pediatrician options, and infant feeding options and
preferences

Check-in call at 26-28 weeks from pregnancy partner nurse to:

Answer any questions/discuss concerns
Provide assistance in beginning prenatal classes

Return visit at 34-36 weeks with pregnancy partner nurse:

Private tour of the Family Birthing Center for mom and family
Discuss pain management options (epidurals as
well as nonpharmacological methods)
Complete admission paperwork

Check-in call at 38-40 weeks from pregnancy partner nurse.

Postpartum follow-up phone call within one week after discharge
from pregnancy partner nurse to
:

Make sure all is going well with mom and baby
Provide information concerning classes and support groups
for the new mom
Provide a strong foundation for successful parenting

The Family Birthing Center

The Breidegam Family Birthing Center St. Joseph Medical Center believes that every birth is special. Our new Pregnancy Partner Program is an innovative prenatal program for women who plan to deliver their baby at SJMC. The program is designed to give each mother-to-be and her loved ones an opportunity to fully and personally prepare for the birth of their family’s newest member.
